Manuscript Types

Jurnal Sifo Mikroskil (JSM) accepts original scholarly manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in Informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, and other related fields within the journal's focus and scope.

JSM welcomes manuscripts from researchers, academics, practitioners, and other contributors. All submissions must demonstrate academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal's scope.

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

1. Original Research Article

Original Research Articles present new findings derived from original research activities, including theoretical, experimental, empirical, or applied research.

These articles should provide a clear research problem, appropriate methodology, comprehensive analysis, and meaningful contributions to the relevant field of study.

Original Research Articles may include:

  • Development and evaluation of information systems, software applications, or computational models.
  • Design, implementation, and testing of algorithms, frameworks, or technological solutions.
  • Experimental studies involving data analysis, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or other computational approaches.
  • Empirical research investigating information systems, information technology adoption, management, or related phenomena.
  • Applied research addressing practical problems through scientific and technological approaches.

Manuscripts should clearly present the research objectives, related literature, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusions. Research findings must be supported by sufficient evidence and appropriate analysis.

2. Review Article

Review Articles provide a comprehensive and critical examination of existing scholarly literature on specific topics relevant to the journal's focus and scope.

These articles aim to synthesize current knowledge, identify research trends, evaluate existing approaches, highlight research gaps, and propose directions for future research.

Review Articles may include:

  • Systematic Literature Review (SLR): A structured review of existing research using clearly defined research questions, literature selection procedures, and systematic analysis.
  • Systematic Mapping Study: A systematic classification and mapping of existing research to identify trends, research categories, and areas requiring further investigation.
  • Scoping Review: A review that examines the extent, characteristics, and distribution of available research on a particular topic.
  • Narrative or Critical Review: A structured and analytical discussion of existing literature that provides critical insights and meaningful scholarly contributions.
  • Mini Review: A focused review that provides a concise but critical synthesis of developments, findings, or emerging issues within a specific research area.

Review Articles must demonstrate analytical depth and scholarly contributions beyond merely summarizing previously published studies.

Authors should clearly explain the purpose, scope, literature selection approach, analytical methods, and significant findings of the review.

3. General Manuscript Requirements

All manuscripts submitted to JSM must comply with the following requirements:

  1. Manuscripts must be original, relevant to the journal's focus and scope, and must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.
  2. Manuscripts must demonstrate academic rigor, clarity, and meaningful contributions to the relevant field of study.
  3. All sources, references, and research materials must be properly acknowledged and cited.
  4. Manuscripts must comply with the journal's Publication Ethics, Authorship Criteria, and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) Policy.

4. Editorial Evaluation

The editorial team evaluates submitted manuscripts based on their relevance to the journal's scope, originality, scientific quality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution to existing knowledge.

JSM reserves the right to reject manuscripts that do not meet the journal's scope, manuscript requirements, or publication ethics standards.

Authors are encouraged to review the journal's Author Guidelines and use the official manuscript template before submitting their manuscripts through the JSM online submission system.
